Volkswagen has so far only confirmed the car's name, and the fact that it will be launched with the brand's TSI-badged range of petrol engines. Our favourite engine in the T-Cross is the 94bhp 1.0-litre petrol, and that's likely to be our preferred option in the Taigo too. There aren't likely to be any plug-in hybrid options, for now at least, and certainly no sign of a diesel engine in the range.

Thanks for posting this! I was trying to find some info on the engine but it seems to be very limited right now. I guess this is because it is so new and they haven't really announced much yet. I think we will likely see more details coming out in the next few months.
