Gearbox driving modes

Hi all, wondering if it’s just me or whether it’s a normal occurrence but when I change the driving modes on my taigo dsg, the engine/gearbox mode changes for example from D to E to S, but when the ignition is turned off and then on the overall ‘mode’ for example eco remains but the drive mode reverts back to D and normal gearbox rather than the eco E.
Would love to know if it’s not just me and I’m sorry if I confused anyone
